At KINO Italy, we are on a mission to make remote work from small Italian villages a reality. We believe that work should no longer be confined to traditional offices or bustling cities. Our vision is to unlock the potential of remote work in the picturesque landscapes of Italy, where you can experience the true essence of this beautiful country while pursuing your professional goals. Our Story
Ciao! We are Andrea and Serena, the co-founders of KINO Italy.
Before starting this exciting journey, we spent many years living abroad in vibrant cities like London and Shanghai. However, with the events of 2020 and the global pandemic, we began to rethink our lifestyle and approach to work. Andrea moved back to Italy and spent the lockdown months working from a tranquil village in Tuscany. He wanted to embrace the challenge of living in a small village but he soon realised he missed the connections and exposure to an international community. Serena, on the other hand, spent most of the lockdown months working from home in London and started to ponder a better solution for work-life balance after the pandemic. When 2020 brought unexpected changes, we embarked on a journey to redefine the way we work and live.
As Italians with a global mindset, we recognized the immense potential of our beautiful country for remote workers. We envisioned Italy as the perfect destination, offering awe-inspiring landscapes, a relaxed pace of life, and an authentic cultural experience. In late 2021, we united our passion and expertise to make remote work in Italy a reality.
Identifying a gap in the market, we focused on smaller Italian villages, hidden gems brimming with charm, that were ready to embrace remote workers. However, these enchanting destinations often lacked the infrastructure to support this new wave of professionals. Undeterred, we saw the potential for growth and the positive impact it could have on local communities.
From idea to reality
In July 2022, we took our first leap and launched our community in Tursi, a picturesque village nestled in the Basilicata region. Together with 19 remote workers and the support of a local association, we transformed a serene ex-monastery into a dynamic workspace, fostering connections with friendly locals and immersing ourselves in the wonders of the undiscovered Basilicata region. Inspired by this success, in October 2022 we ventured to the enchanting mountain village of Santa Fiora in Tuscany, creating yet another remarkable experience for our community.

In Spring 2023, we set our sights on the charming town of Ostuni in Puglia, continuing our mission to foster innovation and impact within local communities. Every step of the way, we curate exceptional itineraries, ensuring reliable accommodations tailored to remote work, providing comprehensive destination information, and organizing engaging community activities.
